As you use social media to build your online presence, one of the things that you should have in place is a way to monitor your progress. As you measure your progress, you can see where your efforts are successful and where they are not working. Then make adjustments to your social media strategy as you see fit according to your monitoring results.
To help you find a social media measuring tool, I thought it would be helpful to provide you with a list of tools that are available:
- Google analytics: allows you to add code to your website so that you can track traffic, incoming and outgoing.
- Feedburner: allows your web visitors to sign-up for your RSS feed and then Feedburner provides statistics for your subscribers (Google produce)
- Bit.ly: URL shortener that allows you to track the statistic of clicks on your links that you shorten using their service.
- SocialToo: allows you to connect with Facebook or Twitter and has built statistic monitoring tools for each.
- BlogScope: analyze and monitor the blogsphere then provides visualization regarding the statistics. According to their website: [they] assist the user in discovering interesting information from these millions of blogs via a set of numerous unique features including popularity curves, identification of information bursts, related terms, and geographical search.
