Sustainable development as a national policy has been adopted by most countries, but positive effects on the world’s environmental resources remain minimal. The poor in developing countries often depend on the natural resources around them for their livelihood.
Global Cooperation
The developed countries (signatories to the Millennium Declaration setting forth the Millennium Development Goals) have not achieved their commitments / targets. Developing countries, in order to ensure the achievement of their own development goals, need more aid, debt relief, trade opportunities, transfer of technology from the developed countries.

Hasn’t that always been true? The problem comes when countries get into industrial production – that’s where the pollution and disproprotionate use of resources comes from.
The distinction is that the “haves” can find employment or set up businesses. The “have-nots” & “have-little” depend on the commons (e.g., wood-gathering in the uplands, fishing in municipal waters, etc).
As you perceptively observed, industrial production takes over the commons (corporate logging, trawling, etc) using resources beyond sustainability.
Yes the goals are all set…

4. Child Health
5. Maternal Health
6. Combat HIV/AIDS
7. Environmental Sustainability
8. Global Partnership
But with the years passing away and lack of awareness among especially the developing nations..the execution is becoming difficult..
This year the target being the Indian state where poverty thrives whole heartedly..The MDG will be implemented with full-tone..
