Some Women Business Bloggers

It’s over a week since the BlogHer Business ‘07 conference in New York and I am hoping to interview one or two colleagues who attended.

In the meantime, for anyone wanting at least a partial answer to the question “where are the  women business bloggers”, a good place to start would be the post by Maria Niles on her ConsumerPop – My BlogHer Business Conference Experience.

No question that she found the conference more than worthwhile:

Last week’s inaugural BlogHer Business Conference was a blast!  It was an awesome opportunity to both see friends and colleagues, meet more smart, cool people and to learn some things and come away from a business conference feeling like I was smarter after than I was going in.

As well as being very enthusiastic about the conference and the benefits she got from it, Maria provides a bunch of interesting links to women in the business blogging space whom she met at the conference, and to their blogs.

One of Maria’s finds at the conference was learning about a new search engine, hakia from the company’s Director of Business Development, Stacy Schnider.

The onsite blurb explains:

hakia is building the Web’s new “meaning-based” search engine with the sole purpose of improving search relevancy and interactivity, pushing the current boundaries of Web search. The benefits to the end user are search efficiency, richness of information, and time savings.

For someone like me – frustrated on a daily basis by the irrelevance of the results from the better known search engines – that looks very interesting.

There is also there is a brief report on the Yahoo! Publishing Network site: note the link there to a very interesting Social Media Newsroom template.

    Des,

Thanks so much for the kind link to my blog post. I’m glad to be able to share so many links to interesting blogging women (and men!).

Looking forward to your interviews with colleagues.

    Best,
    Maria
