Sometimes I Forget to Eat!

I just finished about 1,000 words of draft copy for a client. It took me about 2-1/2 hours, working from material the client had sent. Mostly it was rewriting, a couple of quick web searches, and generally doing what we writers do. Not the most creative type of writing, but still requiring focus.
I got caught up in it completely. Which meant I lost track of eating breakfast.
I don’t know about you, but if I miss breakfast, I hit a huge mental and physical slump around 11. If don’t eat fairly quickly, I’ll develop a headache and essentially be out for the rest of the day.
I love getting caught up in my writing and I’m glad I got conscious I needed to eat. Self-care is important.

I never forget to eat because I love food way too much, haha, but I admit I don’t drink nearly enough water that I should. When I do focus on drinking a lot of water, I feel so much better. I can think more clearly, I have more energy.
yep, water can be an issue too ;)
Anne, you are wise to recognize that you need to eat before your blood sugar gets too low. I’m with April about the water. I do not drink near the amount I should.
About the water issue… I just dug out one of my water bottles, filled it up and keep it on my desk so that it is a constant reminder of how much I have to go before the day is over. My plan is to bump it up to at least a bottle and a half by the end of the summer.
And I get dizzy very quickly if my blood sugar drops so your post this morning, rang some bells for me.
:)
self-care… it’s important, and covers a lot
