Sometimes, I just don’t get it.

To me, it doesn’t make any sense. I don’t want to get in to “cultural difficulties” here, but really, how can people justify the treatment of the Pakistani cricket team? There are plenty of really ugly things going on in the World right now (hell, all the time) and from my perspective there are things that are much more important. And this after the burning effigies.

“Why have you come back?” one fan shouted while another supporter bellowed “Go to hell” at Afridi, according to an AFP reporter. When Kaneria tried to leave the arrivals lounge the crowd shouted “Shame on you” and he went back inside, before asking for police protection to help him leave.

Sure, it’s disappointing when you lose, I mean, ask any English cricket fan after the fiasco that was the Ashes, but it is only a game. Admittedly, the comments quoted in the article have no context and we don’t know if the comments were made in relation to Pakistan losing, the death of Bob Woolmer, or maybe the “fans” thought the Pakistani team were involved in match-fixing.

I don’t know, but I think this is taking things a little too far. Someone convince me otherwise.

Wow, those pakis really get stuck in dont they. For a country that gets so worked up over a loss, it amazes me they get anything done. Yes it is only a game, sadly though some people place a lot more than “just a game”, mentality to it.I have no doubt there is going to be a lot of digging done to get to the bottom of the gambling and match fixing side of this wonderful game. Then, once this has been done we will find out just how sincere the games keepers are about returning it to “just a game”.
My humble opinion is that the Pakis, may have taken a dive against Ireland.I voice my opinion as i have nothing to be sued for and therefore dont fear that avenue of rebuttal for voicing said opinion.
I believe that there are too many shady characters allowed in dressing rooms and player hotels. I think Mr. Woolmer was on the right track in wanting to ban players from mobiles on game days and believe this can even be extended/taken a bit further.
If the ICC wants to get the sponsors money to promote the game and shark us(the supporter ) when we go, the least they can do is try to make the game honest. Sad thing is, i dont think they can get their heads out of the sand long enough to look around and smell the roses! Oops, Did i say roses? funny how it dont smell like roses eh?

What are the chances that the ICC or anyone will actually ever get to the bottom of “match-fixing” ?
