Sony Brands Xbox 360 as Too Expensive

In a case of the pot calling the kettle black, Sony has lashed out at Microsoft by alleging that the Xbox 360 is too
expensive and is “a burden on the wallet.” Wow…
According to IGN, Sony claims that the $399 you will spend on a Playstation 3 is a bargain compared to the $199 you’ll dish out for the Xbox 360 Arcade since they say that, to equal the PS3, Xbox games would really have to spend between $449-499. How’s that? All the upgrades, of course (wi-fi adapter, hard drive, Xbox LIVE Gold membership…).
Okay… here’s the thing. You can get Xbox 360 consoles for less than $449 that have 120 GB hard drives (Xbox 360 Elite, $399) and 60 GB hard drives (Xbox 360 Pro Unit, $299).
I’m guessing Sony realized people would research and discover this fact since they go on to accuse Microsoft of reducing your personal space by cluttering up people’s entertainment centers with Xbox 360 accessories. I have no idea where they are going with this one since the Xbox and PS3 add-ons take up about the same amount of space. The only console that I find space-saving is the Nintendo Wii but I don’t even compare them since they offer such different types of games, for the most part.
Either way, this just sounds like a lame attempt to boost PS3 sales by coming up with reasons by the Xbox 360 would be less desirable. I know Sony is desperate but this is really sad.
