Sony files trademark for “Resistance 2”

Resistance: Fall of Man gets a sequel

Sony filed a new trademark, and it’s not for “PlayStation 4.” Instead, the trademark is for “Resistance 2,” which is expected to be the sequel to the PlayStation 3’s best-selling title so far. Bet you weren’t surprised.

We saw this coming light years away. Aside from the recent buzz, cash cows franchises aren’t new to the industry so a sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man makes perfect sense.

Is Sony planning on angering another European church? Who knows? After all, SCEA’s spat with the Church of England certainly helped sell a few thousand copies, so the Resistance franchise could use this as a publicity stunt for each installment.

UGH. Well I guess this is good for PS3 owners. They always need more mediocre FPS to play with their crappy-ass L2/R2 “triggers.”

  2. Chris says:

You do realise it doesn’t use the L2/R2 to fire you fool.

    FOOL!

  3. Alex says:

Even with the ability to custom map the controls, you’re ultimately going to need to bind critical functions to those crappy toenail “triggers.” And that, my little, green friend, is pathetic, especially since L2/R2 are terrible.

  4. Mike says:

I think what he means, Alex, is that you don’t use the L2/R2 buttons at all. The Resistance controls are so simple that you don’t use all keys. In its default mode, L2 and R2 are not used.
