Sony in 2008: Racers and Robots

Hello. I
The Playstation 3 might not be elbowing the Wii and 360 off the shelves, but it’s really not doing too badly in its end-of-year performance. 2008 looks like it’ll get off to a pretty strong start with some decent titles in the queue. Wipeout HD alone will bring joy and terror to motion sickness sufferers.

The PSP will endure as well, thanks to titles like Secret Agent Clank. Hey, I like Ratchet and Clank. Until Mega Man Legends’ Servbots make their glorious return, there will be slim pickings for well-balanced mascots who are cool, loveable and not brimming with !!!ATTITUDE!!!

I watched an interview of Inafune a long while ago, in which the interviewers not-so-subtly beg him to make a new entry in the Legends series. His response is practically tear-jerking, labeling that particular branch of the Mega-franchise as his and many of the developers’ favorite but least likely to profit series. Servbots may never see a serious role again. Or, well serious as they ever get at least. :(

Oh. I’ve always entertained ideas of playing the Ratchet & Clank series, but never got around to it. Do you suppose Size Matters would be a decent introduction to the world, or would you recommend digging around for the earlier titles first?
