Sony Puts PlayStation 3 on Sale

Currently, Sony can’t be happy that their PlayStation 3 has been outsold by both Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii. On Tuesday, Sony made a move to address the situation. Starting right away, the price of a PlayStation 3 will be cut from $399 to $299.

This sale price for the PlayStation 3 will affect the current 80 gig model on the market. It will also be the price for the new, slimmer 120 gig model that is set to be released within the next month. The current 160 gig models will now be $399 instead of $499.

The timing of this sale isn’t an accident. With the vital holiday season coming up, expect to see each of the video game giants to try to entice customers to go with their systems. Right now, Wii seems to be winning the console war, however some industry experts think Xbox 360 can close the gap before the beginning of 2010.

The PlayStation 3 was first released in the United States in November of 2006. Along with the Xbox 360 and the Wii, the PlayStation 3 is a part of the seventh generation of consoles.

that’s the best deal ever and it’s hoped that by doing this act will increase the sales of PS3 but the competition is everywhere, there’s an upcoming MMORPG called Aion online that will surely get a share of sales in video game market.
