South Africa Online Gambling May Soon Be A Reality
Yesterday, South Africa’s Parliament passed the National Gambling Amendment Bill geared to opening up S. Africa to online gambling. The legislation seeks to legalize and regulate online gaming for South African operators.
An online gaming license will be required for all interactive gambling operators, locations and personnel. The Bill also includes a provision which restricts the location of an operator’s server and business to within the Republic of South Africa. Before being signed into Law, the bill must pass to the National Council of Provinces for approval and finally be signed by President Thabo Mbeki.

After the US ban on online gambling transactions, operators are trying to open new places outside of the U.S. where they can do business. It can’t be denied however that the biggest market is in the U.S. and it will take a while before other countries’ revenue catches up. But we see it coming.
