South Park Weakens Viacom Argument Against YouTube

April 5, 2008 by Jayvee Fernandez

Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman must be masturbating furiously right now. South Park just ran an episode where a whole bunch of YouTube stars get slaughtered. South Park is a Viacom show, and Viacom is suing YouTube for $1 billion. This YouTube massacre must be wish-fulfillment for Daumann.

Thing is, Viacom argues that YouTube’s success came from Viacom shows. By acknowledging non-Viacom YouTube stars, South Park just weakened Viacom’s argument. Dauman might want to stop jerking off long enough to realize that.
