Space Pen stress test

February 1, 2005 by admin

I have previously noted my fondness for the venerable Fisher Space Pen.  I’ve been carrying mine around for a while, both in pocket and murse

Now, I’ve sent many a hapless pen to watery deaths in the washing machine or, if they are unlucky enough to survive the drowning, nuclear blast death in the clothes dryer.

I am happy to report that the Space Pen is immune to both drowning in washing machines and hot clothes dryer death.  It may, however, register it’s displeasure at your foolhardiness by spontaneously dissasembling itself and causing quite a racket in the dryer.   But once you put your pen back together, it’s good as new.

Just thought you should know.  Carry on.

Very interesting to find this out. I seriously considered testing just to find out. I guess I wasn’t willing to risk my clothes or my space pen.
