Star Trek Online: Coming to Consoles

The next voyage in the Star Trek saga will take the form of a Massively Multi-Player Online Role Playing Game in which players can take the role of a starship captain for either the Klingons or the Federation. Exciting news for Trekkies everywhere.

The game is being developed by Cryptic Studios and will be made available for the PC and console formats. It’s still unclear what consoles, though I would guess that the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are a safe bet.

For anyone wishing to get a sneak peek at the game, there will be a demo at the Star Trek convention in Las Vegas on August 10th. And if you can’t make it to the convention, there’s always the official website to tide you over.
