Starbucks is set to launch a new marketing campaign “Real Food. Simply Delicious.” as they revamp their current menu. Their new menu will include a variety of baked good without high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors or dyes, as well as low-calorie salads, breakfast sandwiches made with egg whites and other healthier options.
The campaign aims to attract the more health-conscious crowd. According to Reuters, the ingredient changes will include taking out the preservatives from most of their baked goods. Some of the new items are a banana walnut bread, a reduced-fat coffee cake and organic blueberry bar.
“Food has been the Achilles’ heel of the company … That statement will be long buried after we launch this program,” Michelle Gass, Starbucks’ executive vice president of marketing told Reuters last week.
In 2008, Starbucks began the push by adding oatmeal, smoothies and other options to their menu. The new menu will be available as of June 30. Now customers will have a lot more healthy, natural food options when ordering their non-fat latte. With many people putting an emphasis on healthy eating, it’s a smart move by Starbucks to provide alternatives to their traditional baked goods.
