Starbucks To Close 600 Stores In U.S.
Company Pursues New Strategy of Only Having Store on Every Other Corner
Starbucks announced today that they will be reining in the rapid growth that has characterized the company and will now shoot to have coffee bars every 100 feet instead of the original plan which called for a store every three feet.
The company said the decision was based on new consumer research which showed that customers wanted to at least be able to finish their first cup of coffee before passing another store.
As a result of the announcement prices for used sofas plummeted on Craigslist and e-Bay reported a 300% increase in auctions of a variety of folk and blues compilation CDs.
