Starcraft History

The Starcraft II game is coming and it is the biggest game of the year. It has been almost a decade since the last Starcraft was released and as such, all the fans are excited on the final release of this game.

Let’s look at the history of the biggest game of the year:

1. 1st StarCraft – released on March 1998

2. Brood war add-on – released on November 1998

3. StarLeague – OnGameTV which is a gaming channel in South Korea launched the StarLeague on year 2000

4. BoxeR – Lim Yo Hwan is the first Starcraft star on 2001

4. StarCraft Ghost Recon – third person stealth game in 2002

5. BoxeR – recruited by Korean Air Force to join their StarCraft team in 2006

6. Starcraft II announcement – The world was rocked when Blizzard announced the development of Starcraft II in 2007

7. StarCraft II trilogy – was announced in 2008

8. Starcraft II -  this is the release date, hopefully in 2009.

  1. The trailers shows that sequel will be at least as good as original was. But this delaying of game launch seems more matter of monetization strategy, not development issues.
