Starting a business with family

My in-laws are here from the UK for the next couple of weeks, and I’ll admit it’s been hard to do businfamily business can workess with them around. Between them wanting to spend time with me (and I with them), and interruptions to ask questions, it’s been a little catch-as-catch can here.

And it got me wondering… would I go in business with them – or for that matter anyone in my family?

I know thousands do it, but  I’m not sure how to manage when home and work really collide. But I think the key is to set boundaries and responsibilities up right in the beginning of the venture.

What do you think? What makes a good family business?

Hmmm… gets me thinking I need to set up some boundaries right now with my family!
