Starting QB Not Named at Utah

Last year, Utah secured their place in history by claiming the longest winning streak in major college football history. Many people believed that the team should have been in the national championship game. With a new quarterback, though, many fans question whether or not the Utes will be competitive again this season.

Coach Kyle Whittingham, however, is staying quiet about who will be the starting quarterback for Utah when the team takes the field against Utah State on Thursday night. During practice, two quarterbacks on the team have been taking snaps with the offense  – Terrance Cain, a transfer from a junior college and Jordan Wynn, a true freshman.

According to reports, Cain has been taking most of the first-string snaps during practice this past week, but it is still anyone’s game. My money’s on Cain, but word on the street is that Wynn has a lot of talent too. Maybe they’ll share the field for the first few games before Whittingham makes a final decision.

The Utes are ranked 19th, and Whittingham is just hoping that the team can avoid distractions before their opener so that their mind is on the game.
