Stereophonics My Friends

From the Stereophonics and Universal music come a neat little Facebook app for your profile. To support the release of their new Single My Friends on Monday, it’s a little widget that allows you to watch the video, listen to the complete album and links you out to stores to buy the music, either a physical version or just the digital on iTunes. Load up your photo of you and your friends and you can win a trip to meet the band. There’s a lot of content in this widget, but it does not seem to have been promoted a lot, given it only has a couple of hundred active users. Given there’s a Stereophonic’s Fan page with no mention of the widget and there’s no cross-promotion on iLike, there is a definite lack of connection between parts of the marketing. Integrated marketing normally works better than lots of little bits! The app itself is pretty good (as is the song!)
