The previous article about StrengthsFinder 2.0 and your Plan of Action, I wrote about personal application but this article will help you learn how to apply your results to running your business. As a business owner, there are things that we all loving doing and we do those things well. Yet there are those little things that I will call “hiccups” which cause us to sometimes get flustered when trying to complete them.

So I’m going to confess one of my “hiccups” even though it’s hard to do that. I am a perfectionist to the point where I double check my double checks. To some this may not be a weakness but can become one if left unchecked. After reading StrengthsFinder 2.0, I was able to see how I could bottle up that tendency and make it work for me in a more positive way.

According to Dr. Kevin Ong, M.D.,

The strength of the StrengthsFinder 2.0 went beyond it’s accuracy. The action plan was well-written as it seems to be specifically written to the personality of the person reading the individual report, with the use of adjectives that appealed (or were used by) to the person’s personality.

Also, there were many proposed action steps in the action plan for the various strengths which I felt were highly valuable. There was a variety of well thought out ideas and strategies on how one could capitalise on one’s strengths in daily situations.

Another strength of the report was that it often recommended working/co-operating with people who had complementary strengths (expect those who had competition as their strength) in order to achieve success as a team effort.

It definitely has important implications and applications both on a personal level, as well as a human resource tool or a tool for building research or problem-solving teams, etc.

If you haven’t purchased the StrengthsFinder 2.0 book yet, I would highly suggest you so that you can make a difference in your business. I want to hear about your experience with StrengthsFinder 2.0, please fee free to share.
