One of my business associates name Carol Dickson-Carr strongly suggested that I read the book StrengthsFinder 2.0 that was published by the Gallup Press. She was impacted in how the book encourages its readers to build on their strengths and not to concentrate to much on their weaknesses.

I read the first part of the StrengthsFinder 2.0 book so that I would understand what the survey was all about. Then I took the survey and found out what my strengths were. The next step for me was to read about my different strengths and see how I could cultivate each one of the five strengths identified. So my strengths are:
- Relator
- Strategic
- Analytical
- Connectedness
- Responsibility

The StrengthsFinder 2.0 online survey was simple and easy to do, and the results were surprisingly accurate. The labels for the strengths were sometimes counter-intuitive e.g. individualization which seemed to imply a tendency to work alone, but which meant an ability to see other’s unique qualities restorative which seemed to imply an ability to help people find their right footing, but which actually meant an ability to solve problems. The analysis was remarkable spot-on for me. It was also more comprehensive than the DISC profile I took 4 years back.
Hopefully you have been encouraged to read StrengthsFinder 2.0 so that you too can find your strengths. Please feel free to share your strengths and how you are using StrengthsFinder 2.0 in your personal life.
