Try as it might, Subway restaurants just can’t seem to avoid involvement with the adult entertainment industry. First, it paid the price for selling a franchise to strip club operator and convicted pimp Cousin Vinny Agnello (who promoted porn, sex toys and later added a strip show to his sub shop). Now they fire a St. Louis employee after receiving a complaint from a customer who didn’t like their foot-long handled by a gay porn star.
In Subway tells Kurt Wild to take his five-dollar footlong elsewhere…, Brian Juergens writes “It seems that 22-year-old porn actor Kurt Wild has been fired from a Subway restaurant outside of St. Louis after a customer recognized him from his other line of work and raised hell with the management.”
Wild explained in an email:
“I just wanted to tell everyone that I was just fired from my work at subway because I have done gay porn. A customer said they wouldn’t even eat there at subway anymore because of my past work and said that if I wasn’t fired then they would boycott the store. What I say is, if one person can try to ruin me everywhere I work… maybe I should take a stand and boycott their store too if they can’t let people’s privacy be treated right. I should have the right to work anywhere I can and it isn’t right or fair that people can keep me from working simply because of a “gay” issue. If a girl did what we do it would probably be ok.. and if a guy does straight porn.. he is bragged about. When I do gay porn, I feel a bit lynched for the rest of my life. Not right. It actually may not be a “gay” issue as Wild claims he is not gay. In fact, he’s married with three kids.
This story raises some seriously unimportant questions:
- How did the anti-porn customer recognize that his/her sandwich artist was a porn star? Did he have his porn name on his nametag?
- How bad is an industry when you reach “star” status and still have to work the counter at Subway?
- Has news of Kurt’s employment at Subway damaged his reputation in the gay porn industry?
- “if a guy does straight porn…he is bragged about.” Really? By whom?
- “When I do gay porn, I feel a bit lynched for the rest of my life.” This is just occurring to him now?
Should be an interesting day for whoever processes his unemployment claim… at least once they get to reason for dismissal.

Michael Lamb, the founder of GayFranchise.com, is a good guy and I have forgiven him for advertising Cuppy’s Coffee on there.
It is my respect for the gay franchise community that keeps me from making jokes about why Cuppy’s Coffee would be a good fit for Kurt. But it’s not easy being PC.

The question people should be asking is how this customer recognized Kurt Wild?
Wow. One has to ask if its because he’s a porn actor or because he’s gay. Shameful reason to fire a person either way I think. He could always get ahold of a good website ;) and find a job lol.
