Shooting competitions have been a part of every Olympics since 1896, with the exception of 1904 and 1928. The competition has grown from two events to seventeen, settling at 15 events for the Beijing games.
Shooting events include:
Mens: 10 metre air pistol, 10 metre air rifle, 25 metre rapid fire pistol, 50 metre pistol, 50 metre rifle (prone), 50 metre rifle (three positions), double trap, skeet, trap
Womens: 10 metre air pistol, 10 metre air rifle, 25 metre pistol, 50 metre rifle (three positions), double trap, skeet, trap
The shooting events at the Beijing games will take place at the Beijing Shooting Clay Target Field on the west side of town. The facility seats 5000 spectators. One of the interesting features of this field is that the shooting platforms are designed to resemble the towers on the Great Wall of China.

put shooting and archery on tv
Hi Jan!
I watched the women’s archery competition on tv this afternoon. The Korean women were amazing. Hopefully, there will be more archery events on tv.
You can check what’s on when and where on the NBC Olympic Site: http://www.nbcolympics.com/
