Summer Olympic Sports: Table Tennis

Table Tennis has been an Olympic sport since the 1988 games. There are four events: men’s and women’s team and individual competitions. Since their introduction into the Olympics, China has dominated the sport, winning 33 medals, followed by South Korea with 14.

The Bejing Games are the first Olympics to have a dedicated venue for table tennis. The events will be held at the Peking University Gymnasium (pictured above), whose roof resembles a table tennis ball.
