Surf Safely using Wireless connections

Wireless connections are all the rage now, from Coffee shops to malls offering some form of wireless connectivity. But while connecting to such networks is definitely convenient, is your system secure from prying eyes while using them?

Remember, most public hot spots are not secure, so anything you send or receive over the Internet can be easily intercepted and monitored. One exception: If you have a VPN installed for work, you can work within that safely, since everything sent back and forth across it is fully encrypted. No VPN? Here’s what you can do to make sure you’re safe when using your laptop in public.
