Tabula Rasa Previews!
Well, finally we’re starting to hear some previews of Richard Garriott’s new MMO game, Tabula Rasa. So far, first impressions seem pretty good for at least one preview that I have read. Other than the fact that the game is still a little buggy, with some minor issues here and there, the game itself is pretty fun to play. Minus the frustration of programming quirks.
Ahhh, programming quirks. That’s my life!
The game itself sounds like it’s filled with a ton of action. Take this preview from the website Gaming Nexus:
Randy: … I do like how the enemy is constantly dropping in, knockin’ on the front doors of the bases, though — even popping up inside of the walls. Keeps the bullets flying, even when you’re in a “safe zone.” Also, the methods behind the spawning seem more natural here, too. Instead of creatures just reappearing out of thin air, they’re beamed down from dropships, they’re hitting the ground and bounding out of dense woodlands, they’re pulling themselves up from underground. Yes, they’re still “spawning,” per se, but at least an effort’s being made to make them do more than just “blink” into existence.
This particular quote makes the game sound like there isn’t ever any downtime in the game, which I guess can be really fun. Or it could be really annoying.
All in all, it sounds like the game needs a little bit more work, but after the bugs have been fixed, the game will be pretty awesome to play.

Sounds nice, though probably not enough to crsush my LotRO addiction…
Ohhhh… LotRO fan boy, are you? My brother was pretty amazed with it. Might have to try it. Hrmm.
