Take the Internet with you with MiFi

Novatel’s MiFi mobile hotspot is generating quite a bit of buzz in the blogosphere. This nifty little gadget supplies wireless 3G Internet access to up to five separate devices — even devices used by multiple users. It’s one of those clever ideas that makes you wonder why no one’s done it before.

MiFi will connect to any Wifi capable device, including computers, smart phones, cameras, music players, and even your Nintendo DS or PSP. It’s GPS-enabled, with an advanced internal antenna system, and operates with a simple push of a button. It has a rechargeable lithium ion battery that will last up to four hours on a single charge. And it connects devices with a range of a whopping 30 feet — this, from a device smaller than a deck of playing cards. It even has its own built-in microSDHC slot, so you can store and transfer files up to 16GB in size.
