Many investors were disappointed with Target’s performance in the first half of 2009. In an effort to have a better second half of the year, Target plans to spend more on marketing.
During these difficult economic days, many companies have cut their marketing budget in an attempt to save money. However, the marketing cuts are now being blamed for the slow recovery of a number of companies. As a result, many analysts predicts marketing dollars will come back faster than the actual recovery of the economy.
In their forthcoming ads, Target will attempt to woo customers to their store more often. Additionally, they will focus on their new pharmacy business and its growing offering of grocery items.
Target will be rolling out “P-Fresh”, which will provide more fresh produce and other types of fresh food to their stores. With consumers looking for fresh, organic and eco-friendly food options, the “P-Fresh” concept is already getting high reviews.
