Taylor-Wright-Draw
The most recently concluded fight was that of Taylor and Wright that ended in a somewhat “controversial” draw. Of course after the fight both managers/trainers went on defending their own prized fighters and telling the press that they should’ve won.
Typical.
No, I haven’t watched the fight yet. But if there is one thing I don’t like, in any sport, is a draw game.
Sports that have a draw column should try and look at their respective rules and change some stuff so that there are only two columns – win and loss. It’s as simple as that.
Think about it. For example, let’s say there are two good boxers. They are fundamentally sound when it comes to boxing skills. They both trained long and hard for their upcoming match. When the time comes, they box, jab, counterpunch and do all the things needed to win. At the end of 12 rounds, all they have is a draw? That doesn’t look fair now isn’t it? It’s unfair for the fans and for the boxers who trained like mad for months.
So I’d like to propose something. Crazy as it sounds; let’s just have them slug it out. Just like in hockey where they have a shootout, let the boxers slug it out until one gets knockout or quit. In that way, there WILL be a winner.
Same goes with soccer, let them have a shoot out. Whoever scores more then they’re the winner!
I don’t know who said this but I’d rather be lucky than good. Who knows? Today might be your lucky day.
Besides, I like Winky better. Why? No apparent reason. I just like his nickname – Winky.

Actually I think this draw was actually due to the fact that both fighters really did the job equally. I myself was pulling for Taylor. I didn’t like the fact that Taylor didn’t keep his guards up. For every punch (or punches shall I say) Winky threw, Taylor threw some right back.
I give my comments a little more detailed in my new shoot (at work right now). But the biggest thing I thought was just not in good character was Winky walking out of the ring the way he did.
He’s a boxer and should know he can’t win them all. I would have taken the draw over a lost anyday. And he said he didn’t want a rematch…I wonder if he was too hurt (Physically) to admit just maybe Taylor had his number.
I’ll holla
You’ve got to give it to both men….Taylor having more power shots and Winky edging Taylor in terms of work-rate at the latter rounds….Winky’s jabs are superb.Initially, I was rooting for Taylor but I found it hard not to appreciate Winky’s heart in slugging it out toe-to-toe with the man who beat Hopkins twice.
And so, this time a draw is not something to scoff at in terms of the judges looking at it differently and coming up with a draw verdict. If this verdict is the only thing that can make these two fighters meet again, then hell yeah, let it be a draw!
Let’s see who is the last man standing the next time around. =)
I totally agree!!! Like I had stated in my predictions I liked both fighters. But Winky really impressed me more. He showed that true “HUNTER” spirit in him. And I was very surprised to see he even managed to continue even after the head butts.
I hope they do it again. So what about Mosley vs Vargas 2? I got to go with my homeboy Vargas.
