TD Ameritrade – Open an IRA in 3 Steps

TD Ameritrade has made it easy to open an individual retirement account. After three simple steps, you will have an IRA tailored to meet your needs.

Getting an IRA with TD Ameritrade is smart no matter if you are just starting your retirement planning or whether you are getting your plan back on track. After all is said and done, it shouldn’t take you longer than 15 minutes to open your IRA. Best of all, there are no maintenance fees and there’s no charge to set up the individual retirement account.

The first thing you need to do is to figure out your retirement needs. You do that by using their WealthRuler retirement tool.

Next, you pick between a Traditional IRA or a Roth IRA. You can also pick to roll over your 401(k).

The third and final step is to choose how you want to invest. If you decide at this point to change your retirement date, the investment fund will adjust accordingly.

All in all, TD Ameritrade makes opening an IRA extremely easy to do.
