The Network Diagnostics for Windows XP tool analyzes information about your network connectivity to help you troubleshoot network-related problems with your computer. Typically you will do this along with a support professional, either on the phone or over the internet. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.
Got a funny tech support story to tell? Share it here. I’ll start: Some years ago, I worked as tech support for a large company. I’d get all kinds of calls. This time, Jim’s call came in urgently: “Mary, my computer screen won’t work. Get down here and FIX it.” I visited Jim’s office and yes, his computer screen wasn’t working. He had hung his sweater over the monitor; it overheated and stopped working. I turned off the monitor and told him to hang his coat on a coat hanger and to wait for his monitor to cool down before turning it back on. It worked fine after that, but I replaced the monitor sooner than scheduled, just to make sure it didn’t catch fire.
