Technology key to showing up on best cities list
What is the one trait common to the country’s top-performing cities when it comes to job growth? Technology.
At least that’s what the researchers who compiled the Milken Institute/Greenstreet Real Estate Partners’ 2008 Best-Performing Cities Index say. You can read about the institute and its list here.
Basically, according to researchers, those cities filled with active technology centers do the best job of creating and sustaining jobs. It’s hard to argue with that.
The top city, according to the Milken Institute, is the Provo-Orem area in Utah. Next comes Raleigh-Cary, N.C.; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Round Rock, Texas, which, by the way, is home to the headquarters of Dell. Rounding out the top five is Huntsville, Ala.
