Technology making it easier to blog

As this post is being typed, I am currently sitting in the back seat of a car on my way to visit some relatives in a different state. I am in the middle of nowhere (literally) and have 1XRTT connectivity via an Aircard 580 PCMIA card in my laptop.
I’m not sure about the wireless Internet that’s available in other countries, but here in Australia wireless Internet is a fairly new technology – especially what I’m currently using which I believe is based off the CDMA technology. (Apologies if the information is incorrect, I’m not much of a telecommunications expert)
As technology evolves, blogging becomes easier. Darren and Yaro have both mentioned previously about blogging from a local cafe’ using wireless Internet connectivity with their laptops, something that .. just .. sounds … so … groovy.
So here I am, taking advantage of a newish technology to perform something I enjoy, blogging.
What strange places have you blogged from?
For this past semester, every Monday I’ve had a 3 hour block of time between classes. Driving home and back seemed so pointless, so I bring my laptop with. The library’s comfy chairs are usually my destination, but I’ve also surfed the net from inside a Panda Express and sitting out in the sun. I’ve also done it while sitting on my toilet after eating at said Panda Express.
I have scribbled on my pocket PC just about everywhere. I then walk up the street to the coffe shop and upload it right from there. My friends jokingly call it Lumpy’s warwalking. I also use my cell phone as a 115.5 kbps modem to upload stuff at home.
I live in Cleveland, Ohio and with as many high speed places, WiFi locations and data modem at 20.00/month it is pretty nice and aaffordable.

Can you give us any details of what provide and plan you are using?
We’ve just moved to the back of beyond (ok, 45 minutes out of Brisbane) and are suffering on ISDN.
The speeds just aren’t what i am used to and I’d look at anything at this point :)

Hi Lea, I’m afraid I can’t provide details of what plan it was using as I was borrowing it off my father.

This sounds like what one of my clients raves on about endlessly. I’ve been meaning to check the details, except he has no idea what he is using, just that ‘its rooly good’ *laughs*
Wireless internet connections (as in cellular) are available in most major cities in the USA. This is a relatively new thing, and the roll-out has been pretty slow. Very little marketing has been done, which certainly hasn’t helped the roll-out. I think Sprint and Verizon (the two top service providers) are still working on their networks, so have held of on marketing until they’re more satisfied with their infrastructure.
