This is the third post in the series discussing the Technorati research on the State of the Blogosphere in 2008. The first two posts looked at who blogs and why they blog, this one discusses how well they blog. It gives you a chance to compare your blogging habits with the average blogger.
- 25% of bloggers spend ten hours or more blogging each week
- over 50% of the most influential bloggers (as measured by technorati) post 5 or more times per day and are twice as likely to tag their blog posts (as compared to other bloggers)
- bloggers use RSS feeds, video, photos and mobile updates
- top techniques to build their audience include: listing their blog on Technorati and Google, commenting or linking to other blogs, tagging their blog posts for easier search
- half of active blogs attract more than 1000 visitors per month
How about you? How many hours per week do you spend blogging? How often do you post? Do you actively promote your blog?
