Tekken – For reals yo!

Is Tekken retro? The first one hit arcades in 1994, so I’m sure that qualifies it

Anyway, take a look at this video of two martial artists acting out a match in Tekken… The fighting’s pretty good, and the addition of the white and red flashes for blocks and contact is a nice touch… Have a look-see:

Pretty impressive stuff, although I’ve never seen a real Tekken match with so much blocking… It would have been nice to see some more throws, or counters… As someone who has used Jin Kazama since his appearance in Tekken 3 I’m a big fan of counter attacks, but the fighting’s good enough that it doesn’t bother me so much…

Although it’s maybe not as good as this:

Nice find! I can tell you that I have seen that much blocking in tournaments I have been in =)

I’ve never been in a Tekken tournament because I’m not good enough… Although my dad and I used to have some quality times playing Tekken three…

We used to play first to 100 wins or something stupid like that… He wasn’t that bad either, we were pretty closely matched, although neither of us were amazing…

I used to do a fairly good job of humbling most people with Jin, but you can tell an experienced Tekken player when you fight against one…
