2009 is quickly approaching, and I think we can all agree that this year, we’ll only see more of a push to go green. The world’s resources aren’t infinite, and globally, our health and natural surroundings are suffering for poor choices we’ve been making for centuries. Every year, we get more and more reminded of these problems.
This year, I challenge you to make the following ten green New Year’s Resolutions for your small business. Over the next week, we’ll take a look at them all more closely, talking about ways to reach these goals:
Resolution #1: Use 15% less electricity.
Resolution #2: Buy only organic and/or fair trade food products.
Resolution #3: Set realistic recycling goals with your employees – and meet them.
Resolution #4: Travel less as a company.
Resolution #5: Donate 50% of your typical donations to “green” companies.
Resolution #6: Make “going green” discussions a part of your weekly or monthly meetings.
Resolution #7: Offer at least one green choice for your consumers.
Resolution #8: Create a green website (or part of your website).
Resolution #9: Meet with a green consultant at least once.
Resolution #10: Stay up to date with business green news.
If the links above don’t yet work, bookmark this page check back over the next few days – they’ll all be live before January 1! Also, feel free to leave a comment below with YOUR green personal or business resolution.
