Tennis Returns to Normalcy

January 26, 2008 by Albert Bianchi

When Roger Federer was eliminated in the semis of the Australian Open, I had no idea how to respond. My faith in men’s tennis — yay, all that I knew existed — was shaken. But then Maria Sharapova won the women’s half of the open, and I remembered she was attractive. I can really only devote so much thought to tennis, and this is much more comforting.

See, that’s much better.

  1. Yancy Dennis says:

Is Sharapova really that attractive? Do we tend to think so because she is tall and blond? She has chimpmunk cheeks. I think Dementieva is much prettier but she has not won the Grand Slams.

  2. Albert Bianchi says:

Tall and blond certainly helps. I think the fact that she’s won grand slams makes her a bit more of the sort of representative attractive tennis pro.
