Terrell Owens and Donovan McNabb – showing at a field near you

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Terrell Owens will play this weekend in the big game against Philadelphia. This game is being magnified in importance for all the wrong reasons. There are plots and subplots. Will TO speak to Donovan? Will Donovan say nice things about TO? Will Dallas take back the division with a victory? Will Philadelphia get sidetracked with the entire circus atmosphere returning once again?
Jeff Ziglett of the Zen Zone in USA Today had this quote…
Dallas (+2½) at Philadelphia
Shhh. Don’t tell too many people, but I have a scoop. Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens is returning to Philadelphia for a game against his former team. It’s up to Philly’s D-backs to stop Owens and Terry Glenn.
Eagles 24, Cowboys 20
They are getting a 1000 bucks a ticket for this game. Yeah, 1000 smackeroonies. Hard to believe, isn’t it.
Donovan rolls away from pressure
What is really missing in all this hoopla is the fact that it should be a really good game. Dallas and Washington were supposed to compete for the NFC East Division Crown with a good chance that both teams make the playoffs.
Now Donovan McNabb has gotten off to a potential MVP start to lead Philly out to the lead in the Division. To make matters more complicated, Washington pulled off the inspiring victory over the Jags last week (in spite of the Squibster predicting otherwise) to tighten up the division race.
Although Dallas faces Houston next week for an easy game, after that they have the Giants, Panthers, and Skins right in a row with the Panthers and Skins on the road. It would be good for them to secure a victory in this game.
Philly doesn’t have it much easier being away at New Orleans and Tampa Bay, then home with the Jags. Fortunately they then have a bye week to prepare for the Skins at home.
It is a long season, but the team that is victorious in this game could build a slight edge over the next few weeks.
NFL Football Fan Question It is no surprise that Dallas is playing well, but have Donovan and Philly surprised you at all?
