Terrell Owens and the Cowboys shoot down Houston

My name is Terrell and that is a touchdown!

The final score was 34 to 6 in a game that many thought would be much closer. T.O. came to play this time and it made a difference.

Terrell Owens only had 45 yards receiving, but managed… to score 3 touchdowns and pull off one of his infamous end zone machinations.

Making sure he was standing on one of the helmets in the end zone, Owens arched his back and spread his arms in the same look-at-me pose that got him in trouble when he was playing for San Francisco in 2000. After giving the ball to someone in the stands, he ran back across the field waving his arms and fans responded with more cheers and a standing ovation.

“It was his day,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. “I’m pleased we got him.” source

Keep in mind that Jerry Jones is the only person in the free world with an ego bigger than Terrell Owens.

The hidden story in this game is that Tony Romo got to play and threw the third touchdown to Terrell. Dallas is facing the tough decision of continuing to go with Drew Bledsoe at quarterback or switching to Romo.

Why would they switch? Well, there is a school of thought that says Bledsoe can not take them to the Super Bowl; that he is playing as well as he can. The other half of that theory says that Romo is not as good right now, but could end up better than Bledsoe with enough playing time. Then possibly Romo could take them to the Super Bowl.

It would be a high risk play, possibly destroying Bledsoe, so if Romo failed the Cowboys would be sunk.

Your intrepid author says, “Tony Romo???”. (And, no, stranger things have not happened)
