Terrell Owens misses practice, in other news the Sun rises in the East

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

The Hulk is now promoting Slim Fast

Terrell OwensOk, we all hate when this happens. You know when you just get done inking a 25 million dollar contract and then you miss a day of work and they fine you 9,500 dollars.

It is irritating, but no big deal.

Can’t tell you how many times that has happened to me and my friends. What a bummer.

Yes, TO is at it again.

Shortly after signing a three-year, $25 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys in March, Terrell Owens vowed at a news conference he would be a better man and a better teammate for his new team.

“I know what’s expected of me,” Owens said while facing owner Jerry Jones.

“I won’t let you down.”

On Friday, Owens broke his promise by missing a team meeting, a rehabilitation session and by being late to an offensive meeting.

Jones reacted quickly, fining Owens $9,500, the Dallas Morning News reported Sunday. source

Oh wait a darn minute, that was last year.

This year TO went for multiple days off. You have to break in the new coach, ya know.

Terrell Owens’ back pain is just spasms and isn’t considered serious.
An MRI done Monday, when Owens missed the Dallas Cowboys’ practice for the second straight day, showed no problems.

The Cowboys had the exam done because the 33-year-old receiver still had muscle stiffness a day after being treated by team trainers. T.O. got more treatment Monday and wasn’t on the field for either of the team’s two practice sessions.

Even before the test results came back, coach Wade Phillips didn’t sound concerned.

“We feel sure that he just has back spasms, but we don’t want to take any chances,” Phillips said after the first practice. “There’s no alarm, but we wanted to make sure.” source

New coach Phillips apparently has a lot to learn. This is what he had to say.

Still, Phillips hasn’t ruled out the possibility of Owens playing in the preseason opener Thursday night against Indianapolis.

“No, he wants to play,” Phillips said.

Better get used to it. TO does not like to practice. Why practice when you know you are already the best?

The Terrell Owens antics will only get worse. Coach Phillips has only seen the beginning.
