That Copywriting Class I Mentioned

Several days ago I posted about a copywriting class I’d signed up for. It’s taught by Mark Silver (Heart of Business) and we had our first class yesterday. I was totally blown away!

Yes, it’s about copywriting, but it’s way more than that. Mark is what I would call a Sufi Master – everything he does is grounded in spiritual principals. He draws the spiritual and the practical together in a way that’s magic, proving, as he puts it: You can make a profit while making a difference.

My biggest take-away yesterday is that I can base my writing and coaching business totally in Sprit. I’d been groping toward this; yesterday it became totally real for me.

What has this to do with copywriting? I’m going to find out. I know that part of my job will be to let go of all the preconceived notions I have about copywriting – you know, that it’s all about getting you to buy something from me. At least that isn’t the focus. I think part of it is I want you to buy from me only if it works for you and for me – not just so I get some money in my pocket, but so I’m clear that we both benefit, a benefit in a larger sense than just the immediately obvious value of the product or service.

No, I haven’t yet a clue how to do this – that’s why I’m taking the class, but it feels so very good to know that it can be done.

BTW, the class is closed, but Mark has some free things on his site so you can get a real sense of who he is, and there will be other classes.
