The 10 Hottest Guys in the Beijing Olympics

August 13, 2008 by Sandy Mitchell

My friend Mike over in Beijing, who\’s an Australian and who writes the Olympic blog 08:08:08, posted a list this morning of his picks for the hottest women in the Olympics. Of course, his list has some obvious flaws. For one thing, he included a snowboarder (that\’s the Winter Olympics, Mike) and Natalie Gublis (a golfer; golf\’s not yet an Olympic sport).

Anyway, the exercise got me thinking about the hottest GUYS in the Beijing Games. Here is my admittedly subjective list, complete with my American girl bias (in no particular order). Feel free to leave a comment if you feel that I\’ve left someone out.

\'Andrew

Andrew Campbell, 24, hails from sunny San Diego and was named US Sailing\’s Sportsman of the Year in 2007. He is competing in the Laser sailing event.

\"Olympics

Eamon Sullivan of Australia is not only attractive, he\’s a world class swimmer. He\’s already earned a Bronze Medal at the Beijing Games and set a new 100m world record (twice). He\’s available, too; he just broke up with fellow swimmer Stephanie Rice before the Games.

\"Western

Rafael Nadal
This long-haired Spainard is having quite a year. He defeated top-ranked Roger Federer in both the French Open and Wimbledon. They just might meet again for the men\’s single tennis finals in Beijing.

\"Bryan

Now that the US has been eliminated from the soccer/football competition, perhaps US soccer star, Bryan McBride will have some time for romance.

\"AVP

Sean Rosenthal, 28, competes in beach volleyball with partner, Jake Gibb.

\"Mens

Roman Sebrle, from the Czech Republic, is the defending Gold Medalist in the decathlon event.

\"Raj

Raj Bhavsar of the United States jumped into action when Paul Hamm withdrew from the US Gymnastics Team due to injury. The 24-year-old Texan quietly turned in solid performances and helped the US team to win the Bronze team Medal.

\"U.S.

There\’s just something elegant about the way 33-year-old Bernard Lagat carries himself. The native Kenyan-turned American citizen earned the Silver in Athens and the Bronze in Sydney in the 1500m event. He will compete in both the 1500m and the 3000m in Beijing.

\"The

It\’s really difficult to choose just one member of the USA Basketball \”Redeem Team\” for this list. They are the Rock Stars of the Games. However, if I must, my vote goes to Kobe Bryant.

\"Olympics

Maybe Michael Phelps isn\’t the most handsome guy in the Games (although he\’s not bad), but there\’s something undeniably sexy about success–and there\’s no denying he\’s been successful at the Games. Combine that with his amazing humility and he\’s boyish smile and you\’ve got a winner (in more ways than one).
