odf.jpgI know this is a bit late but it’s worth to update those who do not know yet that there was The 1st Word Document Freedom Day last March 26, 2008. I won’t get into details here but will provide quick links for you to checkout of what is Document Freedom Day.

For brief background (source):

Document Freedom Day (DFD) is a global day for document liberation. It will be a day of grassroots effort to educate the public about the importance of Free Document Formats and Open Standards in general.

DFD’s main goals are:

  • promotion and adoption of free document formats
  • forming a global network
  • coordination of activities that happen on 26th of March, Document Freedom Day

I hope that helped. Thanks for dropping by.
