The Andromeda Galaxy
Today’s Astronomy Porn comes from Brian Jolley, who captured this beautiful image of M31, the Andromeda Galaxy, our sister galaxy.
The dust lanes are clearly visible and the stars are all nice pinpoints. Excellent focusing. The details of how the image was taken were not published on his Flickr album, so I can’t give those here. This is one of the best I’ve seen taken from a backyard telescope.
