Aside from that if you can get used to/learn linux (its very easy) it will be a much cheaper option to XP. Overall the asus eee was shipped with linux rarther than windows for a reason. TO KEEP THE COST DOWN. If you then go and buy windows, a cd drive to install it, ect. Then you may aswell buy a higher spec laptop for around £300-350 because thats what the price will be if you choose to switch from linux to XP. My advice is to stick with linux, it can use instant messengers, surf the web with a web browser, store/veiw files such as photos and videos, and send emails.
