The limited edition bundles for The Beatles: Rock Band have been revealed.  I got an email from Gamestop.com announcing that they were taking pre-orders and I am so excited!

The game, which is being developed by Harmonix Music Systems, published by MTV Games, and distributed by Electronic Arts was brought to life with input from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono (widow of John Lennon), Olivia Harrison (widow of George Harrison) and producer Giles Martin.

The Beatles: Rock Band will come with instruments designed and branded specifically for this version of the game and will consist of songs from their first album Please Please Me all the way to Abbey Road.  As if that wasn’t cool enough, there will also be previously unreleased material.  It’s important to note, however, that this is a game on its own and will not be available as an expansion pack for the Rock Band series.

In terms of gameplay, you will be able to create virtual bands with up to four members using three peripheral music instruments and a microphone for the vocals.  The controllers for the current Rock Band and Guitar Hero games will be compatible and the new peripherals that come with The Beatles: Rock Band will be made backwards compatible to work with older versions.

To coincide with the release of the digitally remastered Beatles catalog, the game will be released around the world on September 9, 2009.
