The Best Protein

If you asked 30 different people in a gym what the best protein supplement is, you would probably get at least 20 different answers. Some prefer simple whey protein powder drink mixes while others go for the more expensive line of products. I have tried various protein shake mixes and I always come back to one that works really well for me. It tastes great, mixes well and is a mix of different types of proteins.
The protein I prefer when I work out hard is BSN’s Syntha 6. When I’m not working out so I hard I prefer something a lot less complex such as a simple, inexpensive whey protein.
Men’s Garage wrote up an article on their “Best Proteins”. I’ve tried two of the brands they mention, being Optimum Nutrition and Muscle Milk. While I liked Optimum Nutrition, I felt I could get just as much satisfaction and less sugar from Syntha 6. Muscle Milk, if I remember correctly has a lot of sugar (I may be mistaken) in it and it seems like you have to use a lot of scoops for one shake. I know people that swear by it though. I just prefer a lot less sugar.
Protein supplements are not really something the average dude that is on a moderate fitness routing needs. A person doing moderate fitness exercises can get away with the protein in their diets. The person who is doing very intense workouts to include bodybuilding is the one that is going to want to supplement their diet with a little extra protein, so s to prevent your body from using muscle proteins for energy.
I think it’s also VERY important to note that you’re not just going to pack on muscle by taking a protein supplement, as many people think. You still have to work hard to engage and stimulate protein synthesis in your muscles for protein supplements to work. If you take them and don’t work out, you;re just wasting it all away, to include your money.
With the boatload of brand names of protein out there, the best thing to do is ask around, take an average of the top 5 that you may hear of, give them a try and see what works best for you. If you’re looking for something that tastes good then I would suggest avoiding any Muscletech product. Also if you don’t really have an idea of how to read a nutritional fact label and don’t want too much sugar in your protein, sometimes a good, easy indicator is the weight of the container. Protein powder is not all that heavy but sugar is.

- ive tried the various brands and have researched the different protein powders and manufacturers, i pressed hard to find a protein powder that tasted great, had the concentrated protein that i wanted and was low in fats, sugar and calories. in correspondence to your above article whey is the best and the protein in PROTO WHEY is micro formulated, which basically means that more protein is being absorbed and not wasted with each glass. you end up receiving more protein into your system and end up saving money!
they also make a protein bar –
they are all natural, low calorie, low sugar and full of pure protein. but the thing i really love about them, is that they are not chewy and difficult to eat, they are crunchie (hence the name, ha) and delicious. it is a wafer bar… i love wafer cookies! check em out, i have one when ever i get a craving
