Top ten reasons why Budweiser is sponsoring Kasey Kahne in 2008:
10. Kyle Busch decided he wanted to drive a Toyota, and there’s just nothing American about that.
9. They weren’t aware that they were allowed to change the colors of the race cars, so they took the lazy man’s approach and searched for a driver that was already driving a red car.
8. They entered this deal fairly confident that NASCAR fans couldn’t tell the difference between an 8 and a 9.
7. Budweiser wants to capitalize on NASCAR’s goal to expand internationally by targeting the legal drinking age group in Mexico.
6. They realized that with the recent trends in NASCAR, at Kahne’s age, ten years from now he could very well be one of only nine American drivers left in the Cup.
5. They decided to finally back a driver that is supported by his own team.
4. It was recently learned that about 45% of the nation’s alcohol is consumed by members of the 18 to 22 year old age group. (Yes, I made this number up)
3. They originally thought they would be able to take Kasey’s current commercial lineup and convert them into drinking and driving skits.
2. They want to give the impression that drinking a lot of their product will help you look “forever young”.
1. Warren Wallace is already being backed by Geico.
