I think this phenomenon is very prevalent in the entertainment industry, and they are aware of the intrinsic attrition rates in audience members, which is why American Idol exists. Producers create this massive buzz around a &quot;talent&quot; (and notice I put that word in quotes) and then ramp up &quot;subscribership&quot; (no significance in quotes) and then when they hit a plateau, in terms of sales, they find another &quot;idol&quot; in order to maintain the current hype/buzz they already have.</description>
