The Day After

Yesterday was Blog Action Day; the subject was poverty. One of our commenters, Nicole LaMarco, who blogs at Your Writing Career also blogs at Loving Liberty. Her entry there yesterday was called: 20,000 People Died Yesterday.
When I read that entry I realize I’ve never been hungry and probably won’t ever be no matter what I might say if my lunch is delayed.
Like Nicole I regularly donate stuff I don’t use. Sometimes I do it formally, like to Goodwill, sometimes I put it on the street where it’s always picked up by people who can use it.
And as she suggests, we can all do more, without a whole lot of effort.
Thanks Nicole!

My husband and I were talking about this. I can’t remember a single day in my life when I went to bed hungry, unless it was my choice (like a diet or something). I remember a luncheon I went to once and we had to eat what the people at the soup kitchens were getting. I complained (I was a good deal younger then!), but I think now that it would be good for all of us to skip a meal once in a while. And donate the food to a food bank. Thanks for reminding me, Anne.
that works, so does helping at soup kitchens and food banks… you’re more than welcome for the reminder.
